No touch!

We said don't press it

Hello. I’m actually still alive hahaha herp.

As usual, I have badly-maintained blogs that I just prod to life from time to time. Sorry about that.

In the meantime, here’s a comic my husband requested from me quite a while ago, which I finally got around to making lol. … I hope I got it right haha.

(Disclaimer: I am not a Warhammer fan, so I’m sorry for the liberties I’ve taken with the drawing herp xDDD)

A Dream of a Thousand Cats

dream of a thousand cats neil gaiman sandman morpheus vertigo cat lettering title

“If enough of us dream, if a bare thousand of us dream, we can change the world. We can dream it anew!”

– Visionary Cat (Sandman, Dream Country)

Just a simple one for today, LOL. It’s actually a brush pen drawing, with lettering in marker. Here’s what it actually looks like before shooping. XDD

Yeah, I’ve been trying for nice, solid, flowing lines, and I’m not sure if it worked. I’m also trying to practice simple lettering because seriously, I really suck at type. T__T  I’m kinda inspired to give it a try, though, because yesterday’s 60’s binge had me looking up posters and graphics from that decade, and I just LOVED how they did their lettering… all during a time when there was no Photoshop to speak of.

Before I go on, though, I just have to also say that this has got to be the most difficult post SO FAR, in this 365-day challenge, mainly because I’m falling asleep on my feet (been running on 2 hours of sleep since yesterday because I insisted on pulling an all-nighter to participate in the Elder Scrolls Online beta, HERP), and no ideas were coming to me AT ALL. X__x;; I struggled to squeeze ANYTHING out of my brain for about two hours before I finally got anything done. Frustrating as heck.

Oh, and I guess I should also mention that it’s 4am where I am, and I need to get up early later. AHAHAHAHAH oh gods, me and my life choices… oTL

Anyway, here’s my meager attempt at maybe a title page (or something…?) for a story called “A Dream of a Thousand Cats”, penned by one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman. It appears in the book Dream Country, which is Book 3 of the Sandman series (and I dunno if I’ve said this before, but if you haven’t read this series yet, please do so. It’s lovely…).

Good night.

Rocket Raccoon and Groot share a moment

groot rocket raccoon guardians of the galaxy tanuki leaf ent tree

LOL okay, before I spazz out any further… yes, I am very excited for the upcoming Rocket Racoon and Groot Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Unless it’s obvious, I love raccoons, I love tanukis, so there’s no way I can’t fall in love with a raccoon with machine guns, who swears about as much as I do. Oh, and yeah, everybody else. Yeah. *cough* WELL YEAH, THANK YOU, MARVEL! ❤

Anyway, in today’s doodle, I’m… guessing that Groot started playing Super Mario 3, or started watching anime, hahaha! So yeah, he’s now trying to apply a tanuki leaf onto Rocket’s head. =)))

Also, I should note that with tonight’s doodle, I seem to have encountered that feeling, where you’re so proud of your lineart… it’s neat, it’s detailed, and you just really like how it came out… and then your brain reminds you that you need to color those little nook and crannies you so painstakingly drew in.

I am not a clever girl. oTL #artproblems

Let’s Play! The Wolf Among Us

The Wolf Among Us Telltale Games fanart reaction video games Vertigo Fables Snow White Big Bad Wolf Bigby

I guess I should mention that prior to our recent Minecraft binge, another friend of ours insisted that my fiance and I finally sit down and play The Wolf Among Us, a title from Telltale Games. To be honest, I knew NOTHING of this game other than it features characters from the Vertigo graphic novel series, Fables, of which I am a big fan of. I never read any reports about it, never watched videos, trailers, ZILCH. NADA.

So yeah. We sat down and basically did a three-headed playthrough, with one person at the controls, and two others shouting contradicting responses/instructions (which led to many confused, panic, hilarious moments).

By the time we finished the game… well… I think the mini-comic tells it all. XDDDD

All in all, The Wolf Among Us is a GORGEOUS game. So far, the storytelling is also strong, and I believe that it does a good job of reinforcing the characters from the graphic novels and adding to their flavor, which is tricky and very few other tie-in titles manage to accomplish.

In any case, I’m happy to report that the laptop is safe and unharmed, and ONWARDS TO CHAPTER TWO! 😀

PS: I should clarify that the reaction in the last panel is a POSITIVE thing because I was so, so invested in the story that when THAT happened, it was just such a punch to the gut. Amazing work right there. 😀

How to introduce someone to Minecraft

valentine couple gaming gamer girl glasses minecraft video games sweet

As I’ve mentioned a couple of days ago, my fiance and I have been spending our time playing Minecraft, with him at the controls, and me as the backseat driver. I’ve also mentioned previously that I wasn’t really into this game because I like having my games’ visuals gorgeous.

Well… we haven’t stopped playing, LOL.

Block by block, we have continued to make various improvements to our mountain-top fortress, and we even dragged a belligerent horse from 4000 blocks away (large biomes are INSANE). We have coordinates to various landmarks written down on the IRL calendar hanging by our IRL doorway. We obsessively preserve our progress by making spare copies of our save game in case of sudden LAVA. It has been awesome, and we’ve been having a really good time.

I think we’ll be playing this particular game for quite a while.

Today, mountain-top fortresses with lava-powered heating systems. Tomorrow, sky bridges. Yeah.

100th Blog Post: A colored picture of Agent Carter

LOL Better late than never, no? XDDD It’s been a pleasantly busy day, which is the reason why this post is showing up late. ^_^;;

In any case, I’m still pretty enamored with Agent Peggy Carter, and a friend has suggested that I color in the pencil sketch that I posted a few days ago. I thought about it for a bit and realized that the itch to do just that was just too strong, so I might as well get it out of my system and do some coloring practice along the way.

I actually meant to color this in a totally different way when I started it, but unfortunately, it kinda took a life of its own and here’s how it ended up. LOL. And yes, I suck at ambient lighting, and this is probably the first time I’ve ever even attempted it. I really need to practice more. ^_^;;

Anyway, it’s 4am here (we really have to stop meeting like this…), so I think I’ll go collapse now. Good night.

Oh, and happy 100th blog post to me, hehehehe… WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! 😀

The Fabulous Agent Carter

And today’s super-late doodle (thanks to a full day of gaming, a viewing of Manos: Hands of Fate, as well as Saving Mr. Banks… that last one being a great movie, by the way… the first one… well… it was a hoot, let’s just leave it at that…features the fabulous Agent Peggy Carter. LOL I just managed to catch the Marvel One-Shot feature now, and I LOVED IT. Fighting baddies while FABULOUS, YEAH!! I suddenly want to own a briefcase now, LOL.

LOL anyway it’s past 3am here and I am starting to feel my head float away from my shoulders, so I think I’ll call it a night. I’m a little miffed at myself that I didn’t start the doodle earlier so that I could have colored it, because I adored how her blue suit clashes so well with her hair, but… yeah. It’s my own fault. T_T;; Maybe I’ll come back to this another time and color it then. Maybe.

In the meantime, I’ll go pass out now. Good night.
