Yol, The Fire Within

“In your tongue, the Word simply means ‘Fire.’ It is change given form. Power at its most primal. That is the true meaning of ‘Yol.’

Suleyk. Power. You have it, as do all dov. But power is inert without action and choice. Think of this as the fire builds in your su’um, in your breath.

Su’um ahrk morah.

What will you burn? What will you spare?”

Paarthunax (Elder Scrolls, Skyrim)

Today’s doodle is inspired by one of my favorite speeches in Skyrim. I’ve been playing around with the idea of making something derived from the words that the Dovakhiin is asked to meditate on (Fus, Feim, and Yol), but I have to admit that I’m finding it hard to approach. I was originally trying to come up with something for Fus for the past several weeks, but I guess my brain liked Yol more for today. LOL and even in today’s piece, I feel like I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Ehe…. ^_^;;;

Other things I was thinking of while I was drawing and coloring this were Promethea (from Alan Moore’s graphic novel) and Loki (the non-Avengers one. … okay, maybe SOME of the Avengers one…).

In the meantime, here’s to hoping I can come up with something for the other two words. Eventually. :p

Dovakhiin’s Diary ♥

I’ve been watching both Davide and Ian play Skyrim these days, and recently, I pointed out to D how I found it funny that the entries in the quest log are written in the first person.

I made this drawing to illustrate exactly how my brain interpreted the first-person-ness.
